Hey, I'm Jake
Technical educator focused on infrastructure, cloud, and developer experience.
I'm a systems administrator turned technical educator based in Houston, Texas.
By day, I work across infrastructure, cloud, and developer platforms. By night (and early mornings), I build tools, create content, and focus on teaching people how modern systems actually work.
What drives me
I thrive on solving real-world problems by bringing clarity and structure to messy systems. Whether it's automation, infrastructure work, or teaching others how things fit together, I care about repeatability, reliability, and scale.
That might look like writing a Flask app for smart plant watering, optimizing a Group Policy rollout, or scripting the heck out of a migration.
Beyond tech
Outside of tech, I'm into camping, running, photography, and travel. I've got a short-haired dog named Milton who goes everywhere with us, and a wife who somehow tolerates my obsession with logging everything.
